The San Luis Valley is in the process of developing a Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan in 2022, building upon county mitigation plans. The Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan analyzes vulnerabilities to natural and human caused hazards and involves all municipalities and certain special districts within six counties: Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, Rio Grande, Mineral and Saguache. The plan also identifies mitigation actions that can be taken to minimize property damage and public safety risks. The purpose of this survey is to solicit public input on hazards of concern and suggestions for reducing the impacts of hazards before they occur. The survey has 10 questions and only takes about 5 minutes. The survey is open till August 8, 2022.
